It is no longer news that the Federal Inland Revenue Service collected N5 trillion in 2012 but is there something else we should know about the revenue achievement? Find out from my article published in the Guardian Newspaper linked below:

I am surprised you are surprised about the revenue figure declared by FIRS. The figures is even lower than what the country is generated if the tax authorities can be sincere with there especially in the area of VAT. Billions of naira are lost in this area both to the tax auditors and the management of companies they audit.
To me, the figure is still meagre.
