The Federal Government recently issued an Order "The Companies Income Tax (Exemption of Profits) Order 2012" granting tax incentives to companies who employ graduates without prior experience within 3 years of graduation. The Order also grants tax incentives for the provision of infrastructure such as electricity, roads, water etc. The key question however is "can tax incentives do the magic?".

@Babafemi - You may not claim the incentive for cost incurred prior to the introduction of the incentive but I suggest you write to the FIRS for confirmation.

Dear Mr Taiwo,
Thank you for this update,but however i have the following questions:
1.our company has always spent alot on roads and rural medical centers for communities prior to now.is there a sort of work back to enable us claim this relief???
2. we also have schools that we build in the past for communities and we hand over the managemnet to the governement.Does this relate to only projects commenced and executed 2012?
3.Does this also cover grading of roads and provision of electricity and water for staffs??? resident in the company vicinity??
Please is there a governement document i can refer to for more answers??
